In 1945, under British rule, Amareshwara, a freedom fighter in the Maharajah of North India, was brutally murdered by British forces. His wife Thulasi Devi and sons Arkeshwara and Sankeshwara migrated to Amarapura and work as flag sellers. In 1971, Arkeshwara became an Air Force pilot, but Sankeshwara sacrificed his desire to join the Air Force for his brother. Arkeshwara returns to Amarapura for a short vacation to spend time with his mother and friend Princess Madhumati, chief of Amarapura's Veer Bahadur and daughter of the Maharajah.

Amarapura has always been involved in gang feuds between his three gangs, Khalid, Bagheera and Malik. CM Gansham Pandey learns of Veer Bahadur's plan to nominate himself as his CM candidate to regain power over the people and hires Khalid to wreak havoc in Amarapura along with his son Sartaj. Sartaj starts chaos until Sankeshwara kills him for shooting an old lady. An enraged Khalid kills Sankeshwara and decapitates him, causing Arkeshwara and Thulasi to worry. An enraged Arkeshwara later kills a police officer for insulting his family and is subsequently sentenced to prison and expelled from the Air Force. Khalid then hires the feared gangster Bali to kill Arkeshwara in prison, but Arkeshwara kills Bali.
Veer Bahadur senses an opportunity to eliminate Khalid and saves Alkeshwara. Khalid organizes an attack on Alkeshwara, but Alkeshwara finishes off Khalid's men and kills Khalid. He demands justice for Sankeshwara's death and aims to become the next crime boss of the Bangalore Crime Syndicate. However, problems arise for Arkeshwara as he has to deal with Malik and Bagheera. Veer Bahadur wins the election and becomes CM. Madhumati shares her decision to marry Alkeshwara with him, but Veer Bahadur disrespects her decision and Alkeshwara and makes her elope with him. Arkeshwara murders Bagheera and Malik to capture their territory, where he becomes a feared gangster overnight. In 1973, Arakeshwara was living a family life in a huge palace with Madhumati, their two children, and Thulasi Devi. On the day of her wedding, Madhumati goes to Veer Bahadur for her reconciliation, but Madhumati keeps her in solitary confinement and she uses Arkeshwara as a weapon to destroy Bagheera, Khalid and Malik.
